Your Principal

Elizabethtown Middle School is committed to providing a consistently safe environment which allows for the positive social and emotional, academic, and physical development of each student in order to become productive citizens. Our vision is to prepare students for real world experiences, global citizenship, and readiness for the future. We believe the middle school years are critical to the success of every student with the understanding that every student is unique possessing qualities that makes each individual special.

Realizing that  the school is one of the most influential institutions in one's life, we strive to provide for the individual differences in our students while partnering with the family. As a middle school, we offer a program that provides transition from elementary to high school. Our staff is deeply committed to quality education which will be rigorous enough to challenge our students academically, relevant to the needs of today's citizens, and provide opportunities for relationships to form and grow.

I am happy to be home! Serving my hometown community of Elizabethtown is very rewarding to me. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. After teaching in elementary schools for sixteen years, I decided to pursue my goal of obtaining an administrative license. In June of 2013, I graduated from Sandhills Leadership Academy with my principal license. I have been fortunate to serve in administration at ETMS since graduation.

Vince Lombardi said, “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.” I am committed to the students, families, and staff of ETMS as we continue to build a culture of excellence. I am excited to be part of the great success here! At ETMS we know that "Teamwork makes the Dream Work!"
