Bladen County Schools will continue with asynchronous remote learning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4. District administrators have been in communication with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Bladen County Emergency Services and there continues to be widespread concern with ice on secondary roads.
All events and activities scheduled for Wednesday, February 4 are canceled.
Asynchronous learning means that students will work independently on assignments that teachers have either posted in Canvas, Google Classroom, or sent home with students Friday. Staff will receive information regarding work schedules from their supervisors.
A decision regarding school operations for Thursday, February 5 will be made no later than 6 pm Wednesday.
We appreciate your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff, and we encourage everyone to closely monitor all communication channels for additional updates.
Thank you and please stay warm!

Bladen County Schools Families,
Just like you, we are closely monitoring the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend. ☃️ While it is too early to know what will happen, our teachers are planning ahead to ensure students have everything they would need if Monday were to become a remote learning day.
We will make a decision regarding Monday, no later than 3 pm on Sunday, February 1. We encourage you to monitor all of our regular communication channels (Facebook, Website, BCS App) for updates.
Thank you for understanding and please stay warm!

🚌The two-hour delay will allow temperatures to rise, providing safer and more comfortable conditions for morning transportation.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning—please stay warm!

SFC Atkins and several cadets from East Bladen High School visited Elizabethtown Middle School last week to train our young leaders in the proper handling and folding of the American flag. These students have been selected to proudly raise and lower 🇺🇸 Old Glory 🇺🇸 each day during the upcoming school year.
We are incredibly thankful to SFC Atkins, LC Delmarr, Dr. Carroll, and the EBHS cadets for sharing their time, leadership, and expertise to make this meaningful experience possible. Because of their guidance, we can ensure that 🇺🇸 Old Glory 🇺🇸 is treated with the honor, care, and respect it deserves.
