Creativity has been on full display in Mrs. Edwards’ class at Elizabethtown Middle School! 🧡🖤
Students kicked things off by creating unique puzzle pieces for an “All About Me” activity, celebrating what makes each individual special and how we all fit together as one school community. 🧩
To celebrate Read Across America Week, students brought literature to life by stacking their own Yertle the Turtle creations—showcasing both creativity and a love for reading! 📚🐢
They also explored science by designing frogs that illustrate the life cycle, connecting learning across subjects in a fun and meaningful way. 🐸
We are so proud of our Cougars for their hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning!

🐾 Welcoming Our Rising Cougars to the Den! 🐾
Elizabethtown Middle School was excited to host our rising fifth and sixth graders for a special Transition Day!
Our current Cougar leaders did an outstanding job taking the lead—speaking to the group about life at ETMS, sharing what a typical day looks like, and highlighting the many opportunities available to get involved and succeed. 💬✨
Afterward, our student leaders guided the rising Cougars on a tour of the entire school, helping them feel confident and comfortable as they prepare for this exciting next step.
The day ended on a sweet note with goodie bags for each visiting student, lovingly prepared by our amazing ETMS staff. 🎁🧡
We are so proud of our students for being leaders and role models, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest Cougars to the family!

Eighth grade students from Elizabethtown Middle joined other district schools for a Jewish Cultural Event hosted by Bladen Community College. Mr. Ricky Leinwand addressed the guests about the importance of studying the historical significance of the Holocaust, as well as emphasizing the hope and unity that comes from growing together. Students watched Fanny’s Journey, a film based on the true story of a 13 year old Jewish girl who led her sisters and other orphans from France to Switzerland during WWII.

🌎🐾 More Multicultural Learning at ETMS!
Our sixth and seventh grade students also did an amazing job during Elizabethtown Middle School’s Multicultural Week! Students researched countries from around the world and created colorful presentation boards to share facts about culture, traditions, food, geography, and famous landmarks.
These projects allowed students to explore different parts of the world while practicing research, creativity, and presentation skills. We are proud of the effort and curiosity our students showed as they shared their learning with classmates and our Cougar community.
Great job, Cougars! 🧡

🧡🐾 Creativity and Collaboration in Mrs. Edwards’ Class! 🐾🧡
Students and staff in Mrs. Edwards’ class at Elizabethtown Middle School recently worked together on a special hands-on project --inspired by traditional African Kente cloth -- carefully making colorful strips of “cloth” and then weaving them together by hand. Kente cloth, which originates from West Africa, is known for its vibrant colors and meaningful patterns that represent culture, history, and storytelling. The project was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to work as a team, learn about an important cultural tradition, and express their creativity for our Multicultural Celebration at ETMS.
Most importantly, everyone had a great time designing, weaving, and watching their collective work come together into a beautiful finished piece!
